Ronan White

Celebrant for all of life’s big (and small) transitions

Hi there, I’m Ronan

I am a husband, a father of three, and a Dublin-based celebrant who has always been captivated by how we mark the key moments in life. This fascination let me to studying anthropology, and then travelling to live and work in Africa for many years.

Learning from the World

From the Zulu communities in South Africa to the Macua people of northern Mozambique, I witnessed first-hand the profound power of ceremony. I saw how ritual serves as a sacred ark – shepherding individuals and communities through their most profound life moments. It was there I realised that ceremony isn’t just tradition; it’s a crucial cradle for connection, support and validation.

A Personal Belief in Ritual

Returning home to Ireland, my belief only deepened. Navigating my own milestones – meeting my future wife, building an intercultural life together, becoming a father, and burying my own father – reinforced my conviction that we all need inclusive, meaningful rituals to help carry us over life’s major thresholds.

Connecting People and Stories

My travels, my work, and my life have always been about one thing: connecting with people. I’ve learned that a good celebrant needs to be more than just a voice at the front; they are someone who brings a journey to life, genuinely cares for those at the heart of the ceremony, and ensures that every guest feels truly included.

Your Supportive Guide

Those I have worked with have called me a “supportive guide” – and that is what I aim for: to provide a steady hand for individuals, couples, and families, so that they can simply relax and be fully present in their milestone moments.

I believe in personalised, inclusive, and deeply meaningful ceremonies. I work with you to craft a ceremony that honours your wishes and truly reflects your unique heritage and story.

My Style & Approach

Whether conducting a ceremony in Dublin, London, or Mozambique, I work with you to make sure the occasion is truly meaningful for those at its centre. While I have spent many years working in the area of community development and executive management within the not-for-profit sector, at heart I am a celebrant. This is what gives me the greatest joy.

Languages & Inclusion

Inclusion is at the core of what I do. I am fluent and happy to conduct ceremonies in Portuguese. I also speak some French, Spanish, and German, and can incorporate these (or others, with your guidance) to ensure every guest feels truly welcome and included.

Celebratory by heart, inclusive by nature. I welcome all couples and all families with open arms and a commitment to honouring your true, authentic journey.

Ronan’s ceremony after we had to put our dog Kelly to rest was so restorative and healing. It gave us all the chance to say our goodbyes and gave us the peace we couldn’t find at the vet’s office. Thank you Ronan.

– Fergus John, France

John and I were so lucky to have Ronan be such an important a part of our wedding ceremony. Ronan brings a sense of joy and fun to any celebration but also a deep understanding of the importance of the occasion to those involved. We can’t thank Ronan enough, and wholeheartedly recommend him to any couple seeking a truly personalised and genuinely moving ceremony.
